Jamo is joining the fast-growing soundbar market with their first model, the Jamo Torsten, the latest addition in their 360 Series of products launched earlier this year. Elegant Danish design on the outside is combined with performance under-the-hood, which is the primary reason this 2.1 system will be worth a listen if you don’t have a soundbar yet.

Targeting a clientèle looking for good stereo separation, the configuration of the soundbar includes two 19 mm soft dome tweeters at each end to offer a large listening sweetspot. Jamo Torsten has included four 75 mm long throw woofers, two on each side, for midrange.

But it’s the sub-woofer that sets this system apart from others in the crowd as it’s for those who love their bass, where Jamo claims that it will play down to 32Hz at -3dB. Although size may be a bit bigger than others, the wireless subwoofer boasts a rather unique design with a sidemounted 254 mm driver. The system offers 250 watts total power.

The Tortsen can decode Dolby Digital, the surround format most often included in TV broadcasts. It’s also Bluetooth capable, which means you can stream content wireless from your favourite mobile device. Jamo has also included NFC pairing. In addition, the Torsten remote can “learn” your TV’s remote, so that you don’t have to use a second remote.
