Jamo’s first-ever headphones

24 mars 2011

Danish audio manufacturer Jamo has announced its first-ever range of headphones.

Jamo in40i Jamo wEAR In40i

The Jamo wEAR in-ear designs promise “Danish values and traditions of style, simplicity and functionality”, which presumably means they look good and they work.

They promise better-than-usual comfort thanks to patented oval tips designed to fit the contours of the ear canal, creating an acoustic seal that not only blocks out ambient noise, allowing you to listen at lower, safer volumes, but also puts less pressure on the ear so they can be worn for longer.

Two of the models offer an integrated microphone for handling phone calls and all three have been voiced by Jamo engineers. Each comes with a two-year warranty as standard.

Entry-level: Jamo wEAR In20m (£70)
Finished in piano black and equipped with an in-line microphone, it includes 5.78mm neodymium magnet drivers with controlled damping to help deliver a more balanced sound and a frequency response of 12Hz-18kHz. It comes with three pairs of different-sized ear tips and a protective carrying case.

Midrange: Jamo wEAR In30 (£80)
No microphone and smaller than the In20m but with 8.5mm drivers using the same dual magnet moving coil micro-speaker design with controlled damping. The frequency response is extended slightly to 10Hz-19kHz. Available in black or white it comes with four pairs of different-sized ear tips and a protective carrying case.

Flagship: Jamo wEAR In40i, with 3-button iPhone/iPad/iTouch compatible mic/remote (£90)
The top-of-the-range model includes an in-line microphone and remote at the yoke of the cable to create a more natural feel when answering calls and controlling music. Jamo claims it’s powerful enough that you don’t have to bend down when using it and iPhone/iPad/iTouch users can use it with Skype and iChat VOIP (though they’ll need an adapter to use it with a PC or Mac). Like the in30, it has 8.5 mm drivers and a frequency response of 10Hz-19kHz. It also comes in black or white, and includes four pairs of different-sized ear tips, a protective carrying case and a clothing clip.

All models will be available at the end of March.
