The British company, Damson, based in Yorkshire, has launched Jet , a sexy designed, palm-sized pair of cylindrical speakers, that wirelessly stream music via Bluetooth to create a true stereo soundstage. Sold exclusively as a “stereo pack”, Jet streams the music from a smartphone, tablet or computer to the left speaker which then strips out the left-channel sound and passes the right channel on to the right speaker.

In order to create high-quality full-range sound, each individual compact Jet speaker uses a hybrid driver design. Each cylindrical unit contains a traditional driver optimised for audio above 200Hz, as well as a resonating foot at its base that uses Incisor Diffusion Technology.
Originally developed by the U.S. Navy, this “resonator” technology allows each Jet speaker to make the surface it’s sitting on into a loudspeaker. To adjust Jet’s bass response, you just place it on different surfaces. This technique allows Jet to produce a powerful bass performance that would otherwise be physically impossible in such a compact unit, which measures only 75mm in height. Damson claims that, depending on surface, it will deliver truly rich deep bass down to a level of around 20hz.

Jet is also NFC-compatible (Near Field Communication) for easy Bluetooth pairing, making it one of the easiest wireless devices to use in today’s market. If you have an NFC-compatible device, simply place it near Jet and they will pair instantly. It works with most modern smart devices or computer that features A2DP Bluetooth and any device with a 3.5mm jack socket. Wireless audio is streamed using the latest Bluetooth 4.0 technology. It also has a built in microphone to enable you to make/take calls hands-free.
