QED Signature Cable: World's Best!

23 juillet 2009

QED are set to launch what they call The ‘World’s Best’ HDMI Cable. Named the Signature the cable has gold plated pins, which are cold welded direct to the conductors to ensure optimal signal transfer. A 1m cable will set you back £150.

Phil Davis, category manager responsible for QED stated “As usual, our design brief for this new cable was very straightforward. We were simply tasked to produce the very best HDMI cable currently available.”

He continued “Once again the QED design team have successfully risen to the challenge. The new Signature HDMI will carry the very highest data bitrates without adulteration and sets new standards in its ability to protect that data from external interference. I believe this new cable delivers a performance currently unmatched by its competitors.”

The new cable is an upgrade on the award-winning ‘Performance Series’. All the conductors, (control as well as data/signal lines) are extra large (24AWG) Silver Plated, 99.999% Pure, Oxygen Free Copper (OFC). Even the drain wire is a 24AWG OFC conductor. The cable’s precision geometry is achieved by employing both individual and multiple layers of dielectric, consisting Polyethylene, Aluminium Mylar and PVC.

The result is an HDMI cable that exudes perfect neutrality, allowing premium home cinema equipment to perform at its very best. Even a 5m long Signature HDMI is absolutely guaranteed to transfer data at a rate of 10.2 Gb/sec as a minimum. However, every individual example we have tested has substantially exceeded even this exalted performance.

New Signature HDMI cables are available now; in 1m, 2m, 3m, 5m and 7m lengths, from QED authorised stockists worldwide.
