Sony’s 2011 line-up

Sony has announced much of its upcoming home cinema product range for 2011.

Among the highlights is the company’s new flagship 3D TV, the Bravia HX923 which comes with direct LED backlight, local dimming, a thinner than ever bezel, MotionFlow XR 800, X-Reality Pro engine, two pairs of 3D glasses and a built-in Skype camera and microphone. It’s expected to cost £2,299 (46in) and £2,799 (55in).

There will be a total of 25 Sony TV models coming up this year, 24 of them web connected, including the CX520 with its brushed aluminium fascia, and EX523 models in 32, 37, 40 and 46in screen sizes.

The HX823 TV range features an X-Reality Pro high-end processing engine, 200Hz MotionFlow, monolith design, an optional powered stand and dynamic edge LED backlighting.

There’ll also be a new range of internet-connected TVs aimed at bedroom or kitchen, with the LED models of the EX320 range in 22, 24, 26 and 32in sizes.

Three new Blu-ray players are all internet-connected and include the entry-level BDP-S380, which isn’t 3D-capable, but has Bravia Internet Video, the BDP-S480, which add 3D capability and the BDP-S580 which adds Wi-Fi wireless connectivity on top.

The new Sony headphone range will include the Z1000 with magnesium frame and detachable chord, intended for both home and professional studio use and costing £500.

Sony iPod docks coming in 2011 include the M5iP portable (£70), and the M15iP travel dock (£120) which features 20 watts of power, a rotating dock for watching video in widescreen mode and six hours of battery life.
