Teufel continues its assault on the midrange echelons of the home entertainment market with two new DVD systems, the Impaq 4000 and Impaq 6000.
Both systems include the IP 6000 ‘DVD-Prereceiver’, which in proper English is a 1080p upscaling DVD player and amplifier with FM radio plus decoding for Dolby and DTS soundtracks. There’s no Blu-ray on offer, but each can play DVD and CD as well as MP3, WMA and DivX video files on disc.
The amp in both systems offers 400 watts of power (5×50 for the satellites, 150 for the sub) and there are HDMI, component and composite video connections, as well as digital optical and coaxial inputs for audio and a USB input for MP3 players.

The only real difference is in the speakers – the Impaq 6000 features a couple of floorstanding speakers for left and right, while the Impaq 4000 makes do with its selection of standmount speakers.
Both models are available now in black only, with the Impaq 6000 costing £1,250 and the Impaq 4000 going for £982.
