Wireless audio specialist Sonos has announced its first combined amplifier and speaker system, the ZonePlayer S5.
Previous ZonePlayers included an amplifier which could be connected to standard stereo speakers of your choice, but the new version includes five built-in speakers of its own – two tweeters, two midrange drivers and a subwoofer.
The S5 can be plugged directly into your wireless router via its supplied Ethernet cable to access the music on your PC or Mac, or you can use one of Sonos’s ZoneBridge extensions which allows you to connect to other ZonePlayers throughout your home.
It can be controlled via Sonos’s CR100 or CR200 handheld controllers or via the free Sonos Controller App available for the iPhone or iPod Touch. The system also supports internet radio and internet streaming services such as Napster, Deezer and Last.fm.
The ZonePlayer S5, along with Ethernet cable, power lead and set-up software will be available from 10th November for £349.
