DAB specialist Pure has revealed its latest radio, the retro-styled (aren’t they all?) Élan II.
In contrast to the much-anticipated touch-screen Sensia, due later this year, the Élan II is a more standard affair, though it’s still packed with the latest digital radio tech, including DAB+ and ReVu, the technology that allows you to pause and rewind live digital broadcasts. There’s also Intellitext and textSCAN offering scrolling text info on live programmes. Some broadcasts such as traffic reports and sports results can even be stored on the Élan II’s built-in memory.
Add in an auxiliary input for playing MP3 players, alarm and kitchen timer, 30 DAB and FM presets and digital amplifiers with custom-wound 3in speakers, plus the option of battery power using one of Pure’s ChargePAK rechargeable batteries and you’ve got a solidly compact package.
The Pure Élan II will be on sale in time for Christmas for £100.
