Sony Kicks Off At IFA 2009

Sony had a large press attendance at this years IFA 2009. Sony launched a new marketing campaign named Make.Believe (Make Dot Believe) and will focus on the home.

Hosted by Sir Howard Stringer and discussing the economy and how business has changed.

Sir Howard went on to mention a number of key changes at Sony and of course one or two new products were mentioned.

Kicking off the show was the announcement of Sony’s new 3D film Cloudy with a chance of meat balls which utilises 3D to it’s fall affect. Due for release in the US on September the 18th and was shown using a 4k2k projector.

Blu-ray from Sony was mentioned using the PS3 but also using it as a 3D gaming machine to use as a home hub device on Bravia TV’s

Bravia TV’s are set to feature heavily with not only 3D but also internet connection via your TV.

Fujio Nishida, President of Sony Europe talked about the new Web TV that will be integrated into the Bravia sets so you can watch You Tube and a number of broadcasters have signed up with UK broadcaster Five becoming one of the first in the UK.

With 76% of people in Europe watching videos on the internet and 70% watching less TV. With catch up TV now becoming more popular Sony think that the whole family can watch this in the home with the Bravia internet Video.

Fujio Nishida also announced that from October Bravia TV’s will come equipped with DVB-T, DVB-C and DVB-S inside.
