Sony expands its projector range with two new items going for 1,000$.
Both are 3LCD projectors, boasting a 1280×720 (HD Ready 720p) resolution, 1,100 lumens and a 165 Watt UHP lamp. The HDMI input supports the 1080/24p mode or even 24 pictures a second in native mode. DLP technology isn’t yet capable of displaying native 24p.
The Sony Bravia VPL-AW10 will be available in June in the US at 1,000$. The contrast ratio is 6,000:1.
The Sony Bravia VPL-AW15 will also be available in June at about 1,300$. Contrast ratio here is 12,000:1 (thanks to a special iris with a special High Contrast Plate, an ARC-F lens that’s All Range Crisp Focus and a Sony Real Color Processing.
