At their last press conference, Toshiba announced the release of the first ever Full HD laptop, equipped with a HD-DVD burner : the Qosmio G40.
The Qosmio G40 by Toshiba is a portable device but belongs to the king size category…With its 17in screen boasting a 1920×1080 resolution, its HD-DVD burner and HDMI 1.3, it surely calls for respect! You can use it as a portable player or even as an occasional deck. Soundwise, Harman Kardon produced encouraging speakers for the beast with 2 mediums, 2 tweeters and a subwoofer integrated to the casing.
The overall configuration will beat some of the latest desktops out on the market. Its Intel Core 2 Duo T7300P (2 Ghz) processor, 2Go ram, 2×200 Go RAID hard disk and nVIDIA GeFore 8600M GT video card make it a real winner! And the HD-DVD burner is a multi-layer one…The beast weighs something like 5 kilos.
The Toshiba Qosmio G4O is available as from June at 2,999€.
