Sony’s new additions to its family of Blu-Ray Home Cinema and Sound Bar speaker systems include 4K upscaling and one-touch music streaming
Sony BDV-N7100W Home Cinema System
This year’s N-Series Home Cinema Systems from Sony will upscale films to detail-packed 4K resolution on any 4K TV – so they should be able to deliver a crisper, clearer sound with easy connectivity to online services and other devices. Producing four times the resolution of Full HD, 4K is the next stage in home cinema technology.
Models include the BDV-N7100W and BDV- E4100 Home Cinema Systems, each with high-standing rear surround speakers, and the BDV-E2100 and E3100 with compact surround speakers. There’s also the HT-CT660 Surround Sound Bar.
The slim speaker units feature Sony’s Magnetic Fluid Speaker technology with an advanced ferrofluid material developed by NASA. Sony says this allows the speaker to achieve a more accurate sound, even at high volume levels; clearly defined dialogue; clearer music; and rich, focused bass. There’s also a Football Mode for sports fans that replicates the stadium experience with the added option of masking out the TV commentary.

Newly-designed rear surround speakers receive their audio wirelessly from the main system, cutting down on cable spaghetti.
By touching against the Home Cinema System or Sound Bar you can listen with your smartphone or tablet via an instant Bluetooth connection. Bluetooth listening is enhanced by Sony’s Digital Music Enhancer, restoring high frequencies lost in heavily-compressed music files.
Built-in Wi-Fi connects with devices around the home enabling streaming, while the Home Cinema System can be controlled from an Xperia Tablet, Xperia smartphone, iPhone or iPad with TV SideView. This free app for Android or iOS makes it easy to browse programme listings, explore online services and discover more about the content of whatever Blu-ray disc or TV show you’re watching.

Sculpted lines echo the ‘Sense of Quartz’ styling that is a signature of this season’s BRAVIA TV range. The N-Series Home Cinema Systems from Sony will be available in the UK from May 2013, with the HT-CT660 Surround Sound Bar following in June.
