Scottish cable maker Atlas has created a new plug design for its Equator stereo interconnect.
Atlas Equator MkIII Atlas Equator interconnect
The new Atlas Equator MkIII uses the latest Integra RCA plugs used on the company’s high-end Mavros and Asimi cables and now has an airtight ‘cold-weld’ (crimped) join between the conductor and the plug.
Atlas says this “maintains signal purity by removing the unwanted signal deterioration normally associated with solder joins”.
The hand-made cable’s gold-plated bracket system stops the cable being compressed at any time during construction, and the outer shell of the plug is made from a new ABS (Acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene) thermoplastic resin, which acts both as an insulator and as an interference barrier.
The Equator MkIII is available now for £75/metre pair, with other lengths available on request.
