Sony has announced two new micro hi-fi systems with the standard one-box CMT-G2BNiP and the wall-mountable CMT-CX5.

The G Series (£500) includes Apple’s AirPlay wireless streaming capability as standard, allowing you to stream music from your computer using iTunes or from an iPhone or iPad.
It includes both wireless Wi-Fi and wired Ethernet connections for access to a home network and can also play back music from a USB hard drive or MP3 player via its USB port.
It also includes DAB/FM/AM radio tuner, and can stream internet radio stations too.
Also on the way is the £220 CMT-CX5 (£220), a wall-mountable CD system available in black or white which includes DAB/DAB+/FM radio, a USB port and a built-in dock for iPod/iPhone. Features include Sony’s Dynamic Sound Generator Xtra (DSGX) and a CD input.
Both models should be available in the UK from August.
