Users will have the option of a 30-day free trial of the personalised music streaming service, after which it costs £3 a month. It joins Napster on the system, but as yet there’s no sign of Spotify.
Last.fm uses its scrobbling technology to keep a record of what music you’re playing, learning about your listening habits as it goes, and offering alternative suggestions for related music. You can also play highly personalised radio stations featuring your chosen artists.
The Raumfeld system connects to your computer and can stream your music around the home to your existing stereo set-up or via powered speakers with built-in streaming technology. It’s all controlled by a handset with a touch-sensitive screen.
The Raumfeld system is available now from the company’s website with prices starting from £800.
