Eclipse TD508II-UD desktop speaker system

High-end speaker manufacturer Eclipse has unveiled a new luxury audio system for computers, the TD508II-UD.

Intended as a big brother to the company’s Eclipse TD 307PAII system, the TD508II-UD uses technology taken from Eclipse TD’s £5,000 TD712zMK2 studio monitors to offer more refined acoustics at higher volumes, improved bass and greater dynamic range.

It uses Eclipse’s standard egg-shaped cabinet design with an ultra-fast single full-range driver and the cone-shaped amplifier with its heavy, anti-resonance casing claims to need no tone controls or equalisers, because they “would disturb its outstanding phase characteristics” –so there’s no option to adjust the sound the system delivers.

The Eclipse TD508II-UD is available now in black, white or silver for £680.
