Media server specialist Imerge has announced the XiVA Music Store, a ‘next generation music store’ that allows you to buy, download and store music without the need for a computer.
The download store offers more than 8.5 million tracks available as DRM-free, 320kbps MP3 downloads, designed to be used with Imerge media servers. It features a 3D-effect, card-based menu system with hi-res cover art to search for specific tracks or browse genres and incorporates an ‘intelligent’ search engine that recommends similar artists or tracks and a ‘timeline’ that allows you to move backwards or forwards through a particular browsing session.
The store is integrated directly into Imerge’s media server hardware, so it can be accessed without the need for a computer. The first Imerge media server to include the service is the newly launched MS1-HD flagship full HD audio/video server system. Other Imerge server platforms are expected to follow and the store is also expected to be accessible via non-Imerge hardware in the future.
