Imerge MS1-HD Blu-ray media server (ISE 2010)

11 février 2010

Cambridge-based home server specialist Imerge has announced what it’s choosing to refer to as ‘the world’s most advanced media server’ – the MS1-HD.

The new machine is the next evolution of the company’s flagship MS1 server, and replaces the DVD with a Blu-ray mechanism delivering native 1080p video storage and playback, as well as upscaling standard DVD to 1080p.

Imerge MS1-HD

All your audio and video media can be stored on the MS1-HD/XiVASafe system, which can be accessed through touch-screen panels in each room (or via iPhone app) and offers anything up to 12 terabytes of storage space in a single XiVASafe chassis. That’s enough for 300 Blu-ray discs, 1,800 standard DVDs or 18,000 uncompressed CDs.

It also has internet access for downloading additional material such as track metadata and cover art, as well as the XiVA Music Store, which offers music downloads via 7 Digital, which provides online content for Blackberry and Spotify.

The MS1-HD is available now with prices starting at around £8,930 for a 2TB system.
