Wireworld has announced a new HDMI cable with Ethernet – the Island 6. The new cable promises support for data rates beyond 1080p, including Deep Colour and all upcoming 3D formats.
It’s flat for running under carpets and features parallel conductors with two drain wires per shield pair, which is designed to reduce attenuation and provide greater impedance uniformity. It uses 16 Electrolytic Copper signal conductors instead of the 12 conductors Wireworld claims are found in conventional HDMI cables.
The Wireworld Island 6 is available now in lengths of 0.3m, 0.5m, 1.0m, 2.0, 3.0m and 5.0m, with prices ranging from £30 (0.3m) to £70 (5.0m).
