Sony has released a range of headphones designed to be used either as computer headsets or as hi-fi quality headphones.
The DR-350USB and DR-320DPV and DR-310DP are all over-ear designs with open-back casings and include a pair of sizeable 30mm drivers. They also have a discreetly mounted multi-directional microphone and an optional voice tube for reducing background noise.
All include an in-line volume control and 3.5mm jack. The DR-320DPV comes in red or black (matches with Sony’s Vaio laptops, apparently), and has an extra-long 2.5m cord (the others are 1.2m). The DR-350USB includes a USB adaptor with integrated volume and tone controls for a purely digital connection.
The extra lightweight DR-310DP weighs just 60g and comes in a choice of green, white, pink or blue cushioned earpads.
Sony claims they’re a stylish alternative for longer gaming or chat sessions via VoIP services such as Skype, and that they’ll be available in April, but nothing yet on price.
