Sharp has announced its new Aquos range for 2010. Each comes with a Freeview HD tuner and Sharp’s own Quattron QuadPixel technology, which introduces a fourth pixel colour, yellow, to the standard red, green and blue.
The three models in the range will be the LC-LE921E, LC-LE821E and LC-LE811E, plus a flagship LC-60LE920. The slimline new screens (they’re just 39mm deep) will be available in 40in and 46in sizes except the LC-60LE920 which is limited (in a manner of speaking) to 60in.
All are full HD/1080p compatible, and include Sharp’s UltraBrilliant edge-lit LED technology as standard. Each also has an eco picture control to help control power consumption and the LE921E models also feature E-motion 200Hz motion processing.
Paul Molyneux, MD of Sharp Electronics UK, said: “Sharp has evolved LCD TV technology from three to four primary colour technology, broadening the visual experience and immersing viewers in a palate of colours that has never been possible until now.”
There are no 3D TVs on the horizon yet from Sharp, but the LC-LE921E, LC-LE821E and LC-LE811E will be available from May with prices starting at £1,400 rising to £2,500.
