Leading lighting control manufacturer, Helvar will be demonstrating its new Lighting Router on stand G52 at ISE 2007. The Router is the central element in the Helvar ‘Imagine’ lighting control product range and allows seamless connection of any DIGIDIM input device (control panels, input units and presence detectors) to the Helvar architectural SDIM load interfaces (Imagine dimmers, relay units and ballast controllers). The Router is available in both DMX IN (900) and DMX OUT (901) versions.
The Lighting Router is capable of supporting up to 40 input devices over a distance of 300m. The Router can also handle up to 252 channels of dimming, switching or ballast control over a distance of 1km, as well as 252 consecutive DMX 512 channels that can be mapped onto 252 consecutive dimming channels (DMX IN only). The DMX OUT version of the router provides the capability to control up to 56 consecutive DMX channels.
The Router can support 10/100 Mbit/s Ethernet connection using TCP/IP protocol, with each router having a unique IP address. This permits system expansion by linking multiple routers and is also used for system programming, monitoring and scheduling using Helvar Workshop application software. Up to 16 Helvar Lighting Routers may be networked in a single workgroup providing up to 4000 channels of dimming with over 5000 scenes. As well as this, it is provided with an integral 500 mA supply for powering the Modular control Panels and features two outputs for emergency dimmer overrides. Both Routers feature scheduling and time-clock functions built-in.
