IFA News: JVC Launch New DLA Projectors HD550 & HD950

6 septembre 2009

JVC have launched two new projectors at this years IFA, the DLA-HD550 and DLA-HD950.

Cinenow first saw the new HD550 and HD950 last month at the Porsche training centre at Silverstone but were only allowed to talk about it during the official launch at IFA 2009.

We saw the HD950 using SD upscaled on the film Armageddon and HD on the Dark Knight film. Both looked stunning with blacks looking natural and detailed.

The 50,000:1 projector uses for the first time Clear Motion Drive technology that gives you a crisp and accurate intermediate frame, even for images with fast moving action. This is ideal for 1080i sources such as Sky HD.

Launching at the end of September the two new projectors set to retail at £4,000 (DLA-HD550) and £6,000 (DLA-HD950)offer a number of new features including new remote, 2x motorised zoom lens, HQV Reon-VX video processor.

The HD950 offers ISF (Imaging Science Foundation) calibration which allows trained users to professionally calibrate to your room and screens needs.

THX is also on board the HD950 which mean the JVC projector has passed THX’s Certified Display Program. This will ensure you always get superb picture quality.

If you need the projectors to be flexible with regards to installation then fear not as both have 80% vertical and 34% horizontal lens shift. In addition digital keystone function is available with 30 degrees vertical and 40 degrees horizontal adjustment which helps shift the lens coverage area making distorted images look more natural.

On board you will find 2x HDMI inputs, Component, Video, S-Video and PC

DLA-HD990

JVC will not only have two new projectors this year but three! With the announcement of the HD990 a 70,000:1 contrast ratio projector.

This native contrast ratio is achieved by implementing a higher precision wire grid and a more defined D-ILA device.

The DLA-HD990 is set to retail for around £10,000.

This model is due out at the end of October.
