Pure Siesta Flow bedside internet radio

7 septembre 2009

British DAB radio manufacturer Pure Digital has launched its first bedside internet radio. The Siesta Flow combines access to hundreds of internet radio stations via Wi-Fi connection as well as DAB, DAB+ and FM radio access.

At £100 it will be the cheapest internet radio in Pure’s range. It can also access podcasts, listen again content and even stream music from a Wi-Fi-enabled computer. Unusually, the Siesta Flow also comes with a USB PowerPort which can be used to recharge phones or MP3 players (including the iPod), as well as more esoteric devices such as USB reading lights, fans and cup-warmers!

Other features include a large auto-dimming display; touch sensitive controls; four quick-set alarms; sleep and snooze timers; 30 DAB/ FM presets and an input for an iPod/ MP3 player. It can wake you to the radio, or to wake-up tone, of which Pure has thoughtfully provided 365, one for every day of the year, via its Pure Lounge internet portal.

The Siesta Flow will be followed by three other DAB/FM clock radios, each of them an update on existing models: The Elan II (£100) features retro styling as well as an iPod/MP3 input, the Chronos iDock Series II (£100) features a dedicated iPod/iPhone dock, a redesigned look, upgraded audio thanks to a new digital amplifier and custom-wound speaker coils as well as a USB PowerPort charger while the Chronos CD Series II (£100) features a CD player instead of the dock, improved controls and audio plus PowerPort.

There will also be an internet-free version of the Siesta Flow called the Siesta iDock (£90) which includes an iPod/iPhone dock. All five of the new products are promised to be with us in time for Christmas.
