Even before the show officially starts, the Consumer Electronics Show 2007, spread across all of Las Vegas, kicks off with a series of press briefings about all the latest and greatest kit. Not much in the way of real goodies, not even any products to get hold of, but the talking heads at the lecterns sing a sweet song of fascinating things to come.
LG kicked off the day with a world’s first; a Blu-ray player that can play HD-DVD (or is it an HD-DVD player that can play Blu-ray?) and plenty more. Pioneer announced a revolution in plasma TV, which looks set to re-write the flatscreen TV market, and plenty more. Philips unveiled a range of products that look set to do for sound what Ambilight does for pictures, and plenty more. Panasonic showed a fine range of 1080p Plasma TVs from 50"-103" and plenty more. Sharp and Sony… Well you get the picture.
All these products (and plenty more) will be on display when the show opens for real tomorrow morning. We can’t wait!
