BenQ W10000 : the brand new DLP 1080p projector

28 octobre 2006

Watch out for W10000, the new projector by BenQ, available soon in Japan.

The W10000 features a sharp 10,000:1 contrast ratio, native 1920×1080 resolution, a high brightness of 1,100 ANSI lumen and BenQ’s proprietary Senseye technology. It’s also totally compatible with 1080p devices thanks to its HDMI 1.2 connectibility. Designed to provide users with the ultimate Home Theatre experience, the BenQ W10000 is equipped with a Darkchip3 chipset with a high resolution projection lens.

But you can’t judge a projector by simply ticking off the matrix and HDMI box on your list. You need to take a close look at other essential components like the color wheel and iris. BenQ put in an 8-segment NDG Color Wheel, improving on the usual 6 or 7 on other DC3s. That means you get 2 segments per primary color and 2 filters reducing the green noise that commonly occurs in dark scenes. The Advanced Continuous Electronic IRIS boosts brightness levels above those of other DC3 projectors.

The Senseye Technology automatically sets brightness, contrast and color according to the type of image played. The W10000 also features a whisper quiet design that is able to reduce the operation noise to a low 23dB, ensuring an undisturbed viewing environment.
