IFA Berlin 2006 Video Clips : The final series

28 septembre 2006

Last but not least, or saving the best for last… what should we say ? In this final series of Video Tour clips, including big names like Denon, Hitachi, JVC, Marantz, Mitsubishi and Toshiba, as well as Haier, once you’ve seen them, we’ll let you decide what our strategy was (big, small, by theme or new, or just the way the booths were set out…) for the IFA Berlin 2006! Now, this time, let’s take a look by alphabetical order.

Everything in the Denon catalogue was on show. What were the highlights, well if we must pick just a few, we’ll mention the huge amplifier AVC-A1VX as well as the AVR-1707 A/V receiver, an iPod dock ASD-1R, the “S Series” Mini Systems, as well as the EISA award winning PMA-1500AE integrated amplifier. All the 1080p upgrades were also displayed.

The Chinese manufacturer Haier may not be as well know as others in today’s series of clips but don’t miss seeing their product range including LCD TVs and portable DVD players as well as hybrid computer solutions, that make this brand one of the upcoming ones to watch, and closely.

Then off to Hitachi who showcased their PJ-TX300 video projector surrounded by walls of images of superb plasmas in addition to the whole line-up of Blu-ray recorders. And then more of the “bonus goodies” we promised including the micro hard drives, called simply Microdrive, for their excellent camcorders, as well as more for your enjoyment…

JVC clearly demonstrated all their know-how. They showcased the impressive HD-ILA rear projector boasting 110 inches in prototype as well as a whole series of LCD TVs, some of which were rear lit using LED technology (Light Emitting Diode). Hi-Fi and Home Theater products were galore too, including their Wood Cone speakers, and more…

Marantz had lots of products offering “under-the-hood” views to show off their technologies, including their copper chassis. Don’t miss seeing the DLP VP12 video projector, and all the rest on their stand.

Mitsubishi had on display their video projector line-up including the HC1100, HC3100 as well as the HC5000 offering an “under-the-hood” close-up look of the Reon HQV chip for all to see, in addition to numerous professional models.

Toshiba had a stand just packed full of products that will give us lots to talk about in the weeks to come. HD-DVD was clearly one of the highlights, with a direct comparative with a DVD player (and not …. like some did elsewhere…). The European films in this format were also on show, as finally content is getting into focus! Mention must be made of the portable PC Quosmio equipped with the HD-DVD format. The Regza TV line-up was also showcased. Last of the last, but far from the least, we could appreciate the quality of the displays being demonstrated using our favourite, the SED Technology (Surface-conduction Electron-emitter Display). What a way to end our four days !
