8 octobre 2013

Celebrating its 60th anniversary this past March, Marantz has always been renown for its high-quality audio products. Under the phenomenal watchful eye of Ken Ishiwata (click HERE to see our exclusive videos), the NA-11S1 clearly lives up to that standard of excellence.

The Marantz NA-11S1 is a new benchmark for Networked Audio Systems, that have ushered in a home hi-fi r-evolution for the way we appreciate music. In our numerous discussions with Ken over the years, he has always underlined that it is not only the quality of the components in the product that counts but even more importantly the balance and interaction in the way the audio components work together that is the key to success for a true audiophile experience.

Why can the NA-11S1 be considered a new milestone for this prestigious brand?, well EISA, reflected by the Award, as well as many other industry specialists consider it the most advanced Network Audio System available today.

In the comments from the EISA jury in awarding the NA-11S1 the Digital Audio Player of the Year for 2013-2014, they said: Without doubt, the NA-11S1 is a supreme hi-fi streamer. Here are just a few of the reasons why as we look under-the-hood.

Equipped with exclusive Marantz technologies, the NA-11S1 offers a studio master sound stage right in your own home. In addition to the use of multiple HDAM (Hyper Dynamic Amplifier Module) devices, it boasts the ultimate Marantz DSP processor, PEC777f3, an algorithm developed for professional recording studios to give precision digital filtering, as well as the high resolution audiophile D/A converters, operating in differential mode for the lowest noise and widest dynamic range.

The NA-11S1 is equipped with dual master audio clock generators with jitter reduction for numerous sampling frequencies and bit depths, up to 192 kHz/24 bits. A number of audio file types are supported, including WAV, WMA, MP3, MPEG-4 AAC, FLAC and ALAC, as well as DSD over PCM. A host of other features include AirPlay and DLNA connectivity, USB type A and B as well as Ethernet ports… and more. No wonder the Marantz NA-11S1 is this year’s EISA winner.

This is what the panel of judges had to say:

If networked audio systems have typically been designed for convenience rather than ultimate sound quality then this new digital audio player from Marantz marks a turning point in the evolution of home hi-fi. In addition to offering USB Type A and B sockets – for iDevices, memory sticks and connection to a PC or Mac – the NA-11S1 includes an Ethernet port for access to a NAS drive or to become part of your wired home network. The new DSD-over-USB protocol is also supported. Naturally, AirPlay and DLNA connectivity is included, so you can wirelessly stream music from your computer or mobile device. The player is immaculately finished while its subtle, smooth and intricately detailed sound is always musical, setting an enviable standard. Without doubt, the NA-11S1 is a supreme streamer.
