The launch of the new high definition LCD video projector PLV-Z5 from Sanyo is part of the News that is beginning to arrive in our e-mailbox concerning products to be showcased at the upcoming IFA 2006. This year the biggest Hi-Fi and Home Theater event in Europe will take place from the 1st to the 6th of September, and CineNow! will be there, of course, to bring you all that’s hot, including a full series of WebTV video clips of the event.
Let’s take a look at the characteristics of the new PLV-Z5, which is destined to replace the Z4. It incorporates 3 PolySilicon LCD 1280×720 pixel (720p) chips. The contrast ratio is improved offering 7500:1 compared to 5000:1 for its predecessor. The brightness has also been increased from 1000 to 1100 lumens for the PLV-Z5. Sanyo had equipped this model with 2 HDMI inputs, a trend we are seeing with manufacturers, so you can connect both HDTV and a DVD player/recorder at the same time. In terms of the optics, the iris has been improved, while the other characteristics are the same as the Z4.
Availability is announced for end September in silver and black at a SRP of 1799 €.
