As you saw in our previous video clips concerning Video Projectors, innovation and HD are the key words with a number of projectors now offering anamorphic optics. In the field of Projection Screens it is therefore no real surprise that we also find a new series of products to keep pace with these market developments, and offer even more to the consumer in terms of brighter images.
At ISE 2006 we were fortunate to be able to have a number of interviews with product demonstrations of several products seen for the first time in Europe.
Click on the photos below to hear what the corporate pros at DNP, NuVu, Oray, Procolor, Screen Research and Stewart Filmscreens has to say and show us this year.
ISE 2006 : DNP screens in broad daylight
Jacob Christensen, International Product Manager, presents DNP which has forged its reputation in the professional screen field, particularly rear projection screens, for over 30 years. They showed for the very first time the Supernova front projection screen to launch into Home Theater residential market. After much R&D in Japan, this screen was conceived for applications even with the lights on, offering 10 times higher contrast and 2 times brighter images, as you can admire in our clip.
ISE 2006 : NuVu screens for Home Cinema on the move
Sean Henry, founder, gives us a demonstration of their new flexible, fold-out, portable screens that were shown for the first time at the What Hi-Fi / Stuff Show last November, where we did a first clip demonstration in English. This presentation is in French, but the images speak for themselves.
ISE 2006 : Oray screens for all applications
Alexis Theve, International Export Manager, gives us a look at the extensive, wide range of Oray projection screens. Oray is a French company, founded almost 60 years ago, with extensive experience in projection screens, offering global systems and solutions, including installations. And this is not only for Home Theatre, as they have forged a world-wide reputation for mega screens built to measure for theatres, concerts, and other professional applications that have been as wide as 22 meters ! Learn more about this brand and see their new super comfortable Home Theater chairs.
ISE 2006 : Procolor displays new screen
Philippe Baracetti Directeur Commercial et Marketing, gives us (in French) a brief history of Procolor, a French company, with over 50 years of experience specialized in projection screens, large and small, for both corporate and Home Theater applications. The new product on demonstration at ISE was their Media Screen, 4 to 5 meters wide for conference rooms, which you can see in our clip.
ISE 2006 : Screen Research new masking system demonstration
Yves Trélohan, CEO of Screen Research, gives us a quick demonstration of their new Masking system seen for the first time in public, format Cinémascope, conceived particularly for projectors with using anamorphic optics. Although the explanation is in French here you can see first hand the demo which speaks (well almost!) for itself. On display was also the Wing screen concept with integrated speakers which we showed in our video clip in English at the Hi-Fi & Home Cinema Salon Paris, where Yves also gives some background history of the company and the international development.
ISE 2006 : Stewart shows innovative high-end products
Tom Stuart, Corporate Vice President, is the third generation in the management of this, still, family-owned company that has over the past 60 years created its reputation as the high-end projection screen manufacturer in North America. Two new products were on demonstration for the first time in Europe. The Stewart Media is a back projection screen, larger (72” & 80”) than most plasmas with built in speakers, targeted for HDTV broadcasts, computers… CineCurve is part of their Masking screens product range with a slightly curved screen especially designed for 2.35:1 aspect ratio films and the new projectors offering anamorphic optics.
