Christie Digital specialises in the production of corporate and film industry oriented devices. It announced the next coming of two new machines: one is a fully digital cinema projector, labelled CP2000X, which is equipped with a TRI-DLP 2K matrix; the other is the 10 Bits Cine-JPM 2K Video processor that allows conversion between analogue and digital signals. These devices are clearly targeting the professional segment; they may, however, satisfy those willing to offer optimum quality display in their film theatres.
Christie CP2000X claims 22000 lumens ANSI with a contrast over 2000:1. Christie claims that it is the brightest projector currently available. Its high quality optical and its 15 Bits graphic processor deliver perfectly contrasted and faithful colours.
Its “Universal Ballast”, through which the lamp is separated from the projection head, allow the CP2000 X in places where the space is scarce.
The DLP Cinema™ compliant optics allow operations in the most demanding environment, while the ChristieNET™ network interface provides remote management and maintenance for an almost unlimited number of equipments. Its Ethernet input facilitates the system’s installation, piloting and maintenance. CP2000 X is ideally suited for film theatres, post-production, creation of digital masters, and digital intermediation.
Cine-IPM 2K is a full digital image processor. It is able to convert almost any type of content, whichever their format or source. It thus is able to precisely convert contents of another nature than pure cinema –TV programs, corporate presentation, DVD, HDTV…
Says Brian Claypool, Head of Cinema division at Christie: “Movie Theatres manager are increasingly trying to diversify their revenue basis, hence will be more and more looking for fully digitized instruments. With the launch of CP2000 K and Cine-IPM 2K, Christie is able to propose an optimised and cost effective investment solution”.
