What's that about?
Instead of lecturing you about the Net Tune concept, which I already described in the article about the latest Onkyo TX-NR900E, I here invite you to simply download the following document:
Straight from the Onkyo office, this document details the full technical specificities of this new concept of audio management via an LNA network "made in Onkyo".
All in all, the document doesn't surprise us by explaining that this system allows the reading and rendering of play lists from your PC.
However, those of you who don't know what this Client / Server based concept is, should know that it involves a single computer-generated audio source to be broadcast in several places of your home, such as .MP3 / .WAV or .WMA files from a hard rive or even from an Internet radio.
The Net Tune is definitely the first system of its kind (integrated in an A/V amplifier) that allows this kind of "multi-room" broadcast. But we shall note that other manufacturers on the market are currently getting involved in this promising area, for instance with the AudioTron (as seen at the CES), already available in France, and which also allows the broadcast of computer generated play lists via an LAN network (using an external device). We will soon tell you all about this product in an upcoming article.
The following document presents the technical specificities of the latest Net Tune TX-NR900E combo, and can be downloaded in .pdf format (for Acrobat Reader) (294k).
