Prices, they are a-falling...

A new video projector is being released by Infocus this year: After releasing a DLP destined to the wealthiest ones of us (the LP7200), a more affordable unit featuring surprisingly high performances has been created: the X1.

The Infocus designers have integrated the most advanced electronic components within an A4-sized grey solid case (24,9 x 31,8 x 10,6 cm).

Created around the DLP technology used for many projectors of this kind, the X1 is making a remarkable entrance on the market, due to the quality of the components used compared to other similar products. In fact, with a suggested retail price of 1899 euros, the Infocus X1 has simply become the lowest priced projector of its category, featuring:

- An integrated DLP matrix in SVGA (800x600 pixels).
- An SHP 150 Watts light bulb with a 3000 hours lasting life in eco. mode.
- 1000 Lumen Ansi luminosity.
- Contrast ratio: 2000:1 full on/full off.
- 4/3 format (16/9 compatible).
- Video treatment via a Faroudja DCDi chip.
- HDTV compatible (1080i and 720p).

The connection panel doesn't leave anything to be desired: from the RVB (via RS232) to the composite, through an S-Video input, nothing is missing there!

The user will even be able to connect his computer via the USB port if he wishes, in order to use the projector for computer-generated broadcasts.

As you can see, this is the only equipment available for less than 1900 euros in this category, and it is already available. Thumbs up to Infocus who has been working hard in order to offer such high-class equipment to the least wealthy ones of us Home Theater passionates within the limit of our budgets… We are still waiting for other brands to do the same!!!
