Pioneer: DVD Players

So it wasn’t true...

You may have read a Press Release published by Reuters a few weeks ago that was seen on a few web sites at the time, saying that:"Pioneer is stopping DVD Player production. ".

After having checked out the story with Pioneer France, the Japanese company says it’s going to be business as usual for the DVD plant. It appears that the gaff comes from a journalist at the agency. The latter had in fact misunderstood an announcement made by Pioneer. The company had said it was stopping production of blank DVD’s in one of its factories, which has been reconverted for the production of Plasma.

So, as it turns out, Pioneer will in fact be continuing to manufacture DVD Players as well as Blank DVD discs.
