A Game cube

Unlike the others

The future of our game consoles is of course destined to pass by DVD. Effectively, Panasonic is not sprouting about it, but is marketing, in agreement with Nintendo, a hybrid console with the specifics of a Home DVD Player and those of a Game Cube.
As you can see in the following images, the SL-GC10 is able to play DVD’s and audio CD’s as well as MP3. In addition, this is where the advantage lies: this hybrid player is able to do any of the gaming operations you can do with a Game cube. Proof in the pudding is that it includes a 128 bit processor, a drawer compatible with 12 and 8 cm media, four connecting points for joysticks and two memory card slots.

We discovered this newcomer at the Ceatec Trade Show. For the moment, it’s only available in Japan, at a price of $490 and is delivered with an infra-red remote control. In fact, it’s been available in the land of the rising sun for around a year already! So when will it be seeing the light of day here?
