Catalogues are “In Vogue”
Just like their sidekicks, (Onkyo, in case you hadn’t guessed yet), DENON presented, on their stand, all of the new gear from their 2001-2002 catalogue.
Thus, for those of you who had the chance to go to the Expo (with an obligatory passage by the DENON stand), you will have seen some lovely new kit on show.
We noted the presence of the entire 3801 range and others, respectively replaced by the 3802, 2802, 1802 and 1602. The main development in the latter is the inclusion of a new decoding stage dedicated to DP2.
The other change concerns the AVC-A10se which disappears from the catalogue to be replaced by the AVC-A11sr. This machine has, in part, inherited the same amplifying stage as its precursor, but is chock full of new decoding processors, for DTS ES and DP2. We also noted that the Japanese manufacturers have announced the imminent arrival of a software upgrade allowing the AVCA-1se to benefit from Dolby Prologic 2.
In addition, DENON have enriched their Home Cinema range, launching the ADV-700. This is their first "all in one", allowing them to attack a market sector previously covered solely by Sony and Onkyo.
It’s made-up of an elegant silver coloured casing which houses a DVD Player, an amplifying section (5 x 35 watts), a DTS, Dolby Digital and DP2 decoder, as well as an AM/FM tuner.
As announced by Onkyo, most of this gear should be on the shop shelves in Europe by mid-September.
