JAMO - IFA BERLIN

Let’s Get Personal

Also at the show, Jamo unveiled some of the new models that have been added to their 2001-2002 catalogue. Among other things, one could admire the D-8 range, that benefits from a new "Light Oak" natural wood finish.

In addition, Jamo unveiled a new Home Cinema pack. This new system, known as A-4 has a very innovative design. It has to be said that Jamo’s design boys have surpassed themselves yet again, giving birth to a system that is exceptionally well thought out for small spaces. The system is composed of five ana-magnetic satellites of 70 watts (ref. A-410, A-410SUR, A-410CEN) as well as an active subwoofer (A-4SUB) powered at 100 watts. The system should be in the shops by mid-October.

Moreover, Jamo have announced the imminent release of a second version of their Sound Guide. This second edition benefits, according to the manufacturers, from a number of useful tools allowing distributors and consumers alike to make the right choice in their purchase.

In the meantime, we propose the press release published by the firm and presenting the new A-4 pack.

The New Jamo A 4 Concept Brings a Plus to Modern Homes

With the new Jamo A 4 concept, the speakers and subwoofer have every reason to become a particularly visible element of the living room. Designed by the best Danish designers and Jamo’s technicians to be adapted to modern homes, the new audio surround solution is of an exceptional class, as much in its lines as in its sound quality.

Place the Jamo A 4 subwoofer in a fully visible position. No need to hide it. The entire Jamo A 4 concept constitutes a refined audio solution, particularly adapted to modern homes. All the elements – subwoofer, consoles, speakers or accessories – are perfectly harmonised and designed to be seen together.

“Consumer electronics are becoming more and more miniaturised and always more mobile, so we find ourselves facing a choice. Either to discreetly hide the audio section, or to make it particularly visible and to include it as a true element of interior design. To this end, the Jamo A 4 concept has been designed to be seen,” says Leif Schmücker, the International Manager of Jamo Products.

To realise this audio solution, Jamo has joined forces with the designers of Smedegaard & Weis, a leader in industrial design. This team has conceived an avant-garde solution to meet consumer demand in terms of quality, price, design and facility of installation.

Flexible Options for Placement The result is an innovative concept, named Jamo A 4. The Jamo A 410 speakers are designed at the same time to be used in a two-channel situation or as an element of a Home Cinema system.

The speakers are available in white, black silver. The subwoofer is available in matching white and black – and to harmonise with the silver speakers it’s also available in stone grey.

With the installation of five speakers as well as the Jamo A 4SUB subwoofer, the surround system is in place. On each speaker, a console allows the user to adjust the speaker to the position that’s judged as being the best adapted. For a greater freedom of placement, the concept also includes magnificent aluminium stands proposed as accessories – Jamo ST A 410 – 90 cm high.

“Women are particularly creative in terms of interior decorating. The possibility to choose a flexible and original placement is an unavoidable option. It’s precisely this that allows the Jamo A 4 concept to exist. With flexible consoles, associated with stands with refined lines, your imagination is the only limit to the options for positioning of the speakers, says Leif Schmücker.

The visible subwoofer The Jamo A 4 concept is revolutionary, coming back to the idea that one traditionally has of a subwoofer, considered as a product that should remain passive and anonymous. Designed in the framework of a code of elegant and rigorous lines, it’s an active, and particularly visible element of a complete audio solution. The Jamo A 4SUB is designed to be seen.

Its thinness allows it to be either suspended on the wall or placed on the floor, horizontally or vertically. The control panel is discretely hidden by an aluminium plate. A novelty with these Jamo speakers is also the fact that the control panel is divided into two parts for primary or secondary usage.

For maximum flexibility, Jamo has placed the control access on the primary control panel. Users can thus easily adjust the volume, frequency and phase in all circumstances. The secondary control panel is only used during the installation process, and covers the cable connector blocks.

Multipurpose sound for the smallest rooms. The Jamo A 4 concept is an ideal solution for the smaller rooms of modern flats where the music played is often highly varied. Jamo recommends an amplifier of 20 to 70 watts.

The Jamo A 4 concept will be available through better European retailers from mid-October 2001. In the rest of the World, it should be available from March 2002.
