A New Catalogue
The Japanese manufacturers have yet again divulged some breath-taking additions to their 2001-2002 catalogue. We’ve thus had the pleasure of discovering a greater part of them at their stand , with, à la carte, the Integra Research range, the new version of the TX-DS989 including new DP2 and DTS ES audio processing.
On the DVD front, the manufacturer proudly had their new DV-S939, DV-S555 and above all, their new DV-S757 on show. This new-born bubba disposes of on-board electronics that no one would hesitate to marvel over: the first DVD Player that qualifies for a THX Ultra label while benefiting from a very reasonable price.
Moreover, Onkyo exhibited, for the first time anywhere in the World, their new Ultra Slim line of equipment. This series is made up of a DVD Player disposing of converters running at 192 kHz / 24 bits, an integrated amplifier including a DTS, DP2 decoding unit, and a WRAT amplifying system… all this accompanied by a Juke Box with it’s own memory block – a hard disc of 20 Gigabytes – capable of stocking signals encoded in MP3.
According to the latest whispers, most of these “little lovelies” should be on sale in Europe by mid-September.
