High fidelity within reach
After the big success of the DVP-S9000ES at its launching in November 2000, Sony repeats history with the presentation of the next range of compatible SACD DVD players at the Home Entertainment Show 2001. The three new releases will come out during the month of July 2001.
DVP-NS500V and DVP-NC650V
These first two DVD players represent bottom-range models sold for 300 and 400 $ respectively. Even though Sony has used analogue electronics for both, they are still compatible with SACD-encoded software. The DVP-NS500V and DVP-NC650V also include the Precision Drive Play Function. The latter, for its multi-channel processing, also has a double decoder Dolby Digital and DTS. Also remarkable is their capacity to restore audio signals measured in 24 bits / 96 khz.
In addition to these similarities, the DVP-NC650V also has a carrousel that allows it to store 5 disks.
DVP-NS900V
Once again, Sony has taken the time to do things well. To complete its future range of DVD / SACD player models, the company presented a simplified version of its DVP-S9000ES.
Although less complete, this new version is still the exact electronic copy:
- HDTV Compatibility (480i)
-Home Made Video un-interlacing process
-Newest generation of Digital/ Analogue convertors
-Double lens
-DTS and Dolby digital decoders incorporated...
Enough to spoil oneself, since despite the list of specifications, the DVP-NS900V will be sold on the market for 1000 $.
