KEF has a long-standing heritage in design innovation with a trophy cabinet packed full of prestigious Awards, including the recent EISA Award for the European Home Theatre Loudspeaker 2013-2014 for their KEF E305. Their ultra-slim V700/V720W digital TV sound-bar systems are no exception, combining style and easy installation with high quality sound technology. Let’s have a closer look at what makes these models an excellent choice.
KEF V700
The difference between the two models is that the V720W (or sometimes referred to as simply the V720) is a digital TV soundbar system that includes the V700 in addition to a compact, powerful wireless subwoofer, the V-20W, designed to work in harmony with the V700. It should be noted that the V700 will work with any KEF subwoofer.
KEF V700 – just 53mm thin
Both systems have an integral digital class D amplifier, so you don’t need another amp or AV receiver to enjoy the true hi-fi quality sound. Just 53mm in depth, each system includes an array of four patented ultra-low profile, high performance 115mm drivers (two on each side) that are combined with two of KEF’s renown aluminium dome 25mm tweeters that are vented to eliminate distortion, even when the volume is very loud. The tweeters with ‘Tangerine’ Waveguide allow the whole family to enjoy the same sound quality wherever they sit, by distributing the output across a wider angle.
KEF V700 under-the-hood
The V720W sound-bar system includes the V-20W sub-woofer which has its own 200W amplifier, long-throw 200mm driver and matching auxiliary bass reflector, for precise bass reproduction.

There are also switch-able EQ modes at the back of the V720W/V700 allowing optimization of the bass response for whatever the placement.
Set-up is easy with a simple HDMI connection, so no messy cabling. With KEF’s industry-leading acoustic technology, everything can be controlled by your existing TV remote.
What’s unique is the soundbars use the audio return channel on any HDMI 1.4 connection to get their content. This means that the remote on your TV will control the volume on the sound-bar, so forget the need for a second remote control!
