Getting a fresh outing at this year’s show is Wharfedale’s new seven-strong Jade range of speakers.

Last seen at February’s Bristol Show, the Jades will sit above the Diamond 10 range and include two standmounts, two floorstanders, two centre speakers and a single subwoofer.
Designed by Wharfedale’s Director of Acoustic Design Peter Comeau, they all use a new Acufibre cone material designed to combine the responsiveness of glass and carbon fibre with its own self-damping properties.
The Jade 1 standmount costs £500, with prices rising to £699 for the Jade 3, while Jade 5 and 7 floorstanders cost £1,500 and £2,000 respectively. There are no prices yet for the Jade C1 and C2 centres or the SR subwoofer.
Both the Jade 1 and 3 are three-way sealed box designs with a 25mm aluminium dome tweeter, 7.5cm Acufibre woofer and a 12.5cm (Jade 1) or 15cm (Jade 3) Acufibre midrange cone.
The Jade 5 floorstander is also a three-way sealed box and includes a 25mm aluminium dome tweeter, 7.5cm Acufibre midrange cone and a pair of 15cm Acufibre woofers.
The larger Jade 7 is a four-way sealed box with three Acufibre cones measuring 7.5cm, 15cm and 17.5cm.
Due on sale at the end of July they’ll be available in a choice of finishes: black oak, vintage cherry, burgundy burr and piano black.
