British speaker manufacturer Wharfedale has created three new PowerCube subwoofers.
Wharfedale Powrecube subwoofers Wharfedale PowerCube SPC-8, SPC-10 and SPC-12
The new models come in three sizes: the SPC-8 has a 20cm driver; SPC-10 has a 25cm driver; and the SPC-12 comes with a 30cm driver.
They’re available in a choice of seven finishes (blackwood, cherry, rosewood, walnut, cool maple, winter maple and wenge), but all three include Wharfedale’s ‘infinite baffle’ design and downward-firing drivers, with Class D amplification of 150 watts, 200 watts and 350 watts.
They also include a motion sensor which detects movement nearby and automatically illuminates the top-mounted controls ready for tweaking.
Peter Comeau, director of acoustic design at Wharfedale’s parent company IAG, said: “The aim was to create a range of high-quality powered subwoofers to suit a variety of rooms, tastes and budgets.”
The Wharfedale PowerCube series goes on sale this month at these prices: SPC-8 (£250), SPC-10 (£300) and SPC-12 (£500).
