Hot on the heels of its recently announced Spotify-compatible AV receiver, Onkyo has announced three new stereo products.
Onkyo TX-8050 Onkyo TX-8050
On the way are the TX-8050 network stereo receiver, the TX-8030 stereo receiver, and the C-7030 CD player.
Both the TX-8050 and TX-8030 are 130-watts-per-channel amps with Onkyo’s own WRAT technology, which incorporates “a low negative-feedback design, closed ground-loop circuits, and a high instantaneous-current capability” to reduce distortion and cancel circuit noise for cleaner and more accurate signal amplification.
They also include analogue AV inputs, a universal port for Onkyo-branded peripheral devices such as the UP-DT1 DAB+ tuner, and Zone 2 pre-outs for sending audio to a second room equipped with an amplifier and a pair of speakers. The TX-8050 adds digital optical and coaxial audio inputs, and a front-side USB input for direct digital connection of iPod/iPhone.

The TX-8050’s network functionality means you can stream audio from a PC and get access to internet radio via vTuner. It supports MP3, WMA, WMA Lossless, FLAC, WAV, Ogg Vorbis, AAC, and LPCM audio files and can be used with Onkyo’s remote control app for iPhone.
The C-7030 CD player meanwhile uses a new high-precision clock to reduce timing errors, along with Onkyo’s original VLSC to reduce pulse noise. Inside is a custom-built EI transformer and on the front is a 1.6mm-thick flat chassis base to help reduce unwanted vibrations.
All three models will be available in black or silver in April at these prices:
Onkyo TX-8050 network stereo receiver £400
Onkyo TX-8030 stereo receiver £300
