Sony has announced a new range of headphones, with models ranging from in-ear buds to full over-ear professional class devices.
Top of the range is the MDR-Z1000, a pro monitor over-ear pair which are intended for professional studio use. They’re designed to be rugged, lightweight and are made using a newly developed Liquid Crystal Polymer diaphragm which Sony claims is capable of a clearer, more natural-sounding high and mid-range performance.
The MDR-ZX700 is another closed on-ear model, and further down the range comes the MDR-EX series – earbuds featuring a relatively large 13.5mm driver and a specially tweaked design intended to keep them snugly attached to the inside of your ears without falling out.
This being Sony, no prices have been released yet, though all the models should be available later in March.
