The man who told Michael Jackson which songs to include on Thriller now has his own line of headphones from US manufacturer AKG.

AKG Q701 AKG Quincy Jones Signature Line Q701

The AKG Quincy Jones Signature Line not only boasts the legendary producer’s name, but also three different styles – the Q701 reference-class premium over ears, Q460 high-performance mini on-ear headphones, and Q350 in-ear headphones.

The company claims the Q701 (pictured) is the “most accurate and responsive headphone AKG has ever produced”. They include flat-wire voice coils designed to create a “spacious, dramatic soundstage with precise 360-degree imaging and outstanding transient response” as well as patented two-layer diaphragms similar to those in AKG’s professional studio models.

The Q460 is designed for portable players with lightweight ear pads and a range of bright colours, plus iPhone-compatible in-line controls and the even more lightweight Q350 includes in-line microphone and controls for iPhone plus a cable winder.

The 27-time Grammy winner said: ‘Throughout my entire career, I have trusted only AKG to deliver the highest standard of sound. It’s the same standard I hold myself to when I make my music’.

The AKG Quincy Jones Signature Line is available now at prices ranging from €59 (Q350) to €129 (Q460 and €499 (Q701). Official UK prices are TBA.
