Pure FlowSongs

DAB and internet radio maker Pure has announced a new cloud-based service that allows listeners to buy and download songs direct from their radio.

PureSongs uses Shazam’s track identification technology to identify songs on DAB, FM or internet radio and once recognised, they are made available to buy via online music service 7digital.

Pure FlowSongs

When you buy a song, the MP3 track is downloaded to the computer which you’ve identified when you’ve set up your free account, and an additional version is made available in the cloud, so you can build up a playlist of tracks which you can access anywhere. The downloaded track is yours to keep and can be played on computer, MP3 player or mobile phone.

The service will be available on five of Pure’s Wi-Fi and internet-capable radios, including the touch-screen Sensia and the Evoke Flow, Avanti Flow, Oasis Flow and Siesta Flow.

The beta version of the service launches on Monday 16 August and will then be rolled out internationally later in the year.

All the DRM-free tracks will be the same price as they are on 7digital (usually between 79p and £1.29) and will stream at 128kbps. Most will download as high-quality 320kbps files.
