Panasonic’s latest home cinema systems are the SC-BTX77 (pictured) and SC-BTX75.

Both are slim 2.1-channel Blu-ray systems with sleek vertical designs and feature Panasonic’s new Advanced Bamboo Cone Speakers, a compact Kelton subwoofer and a centre unit that houses the electronics.

The BTX75’s speakers are smaller but otherwise the technology is mostly the same. The door in the front panel slides open to reveal the Blu-ray disc tray, or you can plug in an iPod. Panasonic says its PHL Chroma Processor Plus and High Precision 4:4:4 video processing technologies can improve Blu-ray disc playback to ‘cinema quality’.

Networking features are also on board, with the SC-BTX77 including the VIERA CAST internet service which includes YouTube and Picasa, as well as BD-Live compatibility. Both systems have SD memory card and USB slots for viewing pics, videos or listening to audio and are compatible with Panasonic’s VIERA LINK, so they can be controlled with the same remote as a Panasonic TV.
