The latest Eclipse speaker from Fujitsu-Ten is the Eclipse TD712z MK2BK. The high-end speaker will be launched at the annual Munich High End Show this weekend.

The Eclipse TD712z first appeared six years ago, and the Japanese manufacturer claims the new MK2 Black version benefits from a series of improvements.

Changes to the original time domain speaker include a beefed up motor system for the drive unit, new ultra-efficient high-power magnet structure, redesigned damping system for the driver surround, high density zinc internal components, new design of the coupling to the integrated stand and though the cabinet retains its distinctive egg shape, it’s 50 per cent larger in volume, weighing in at a massive 25kg. The changes to the new black version are also incorporated into the existing silver version.

The Eclipse TD712zMK2BK will be available later this month at a cost of £5,300 a pair.
