German audio manufacturer Teufel has announced a complete range of ‘Reference’ cables, featuring both speaker cables and analogue interconnects as well as some digital interconnects, and Y-adapters for subwoofers.
The Reference speaker cable, (from £132 for 2.5m), uses two 4mm2 oxygen-free copper conductors, surrounded by vibration-reducing multilayer sheathing covered with a woven outer sheath. It features a screw-in tip which will accept any of the 24K gold-plated spade, 4mm banana or pin connectors supplied.
The Reference interconnect (from £115 for 1.5m) is sold as a stereo pair or in mono form for subwoofers. The dedicated subwoofer cables start at £70 for 2.5m up too £132 for 10m. All feature oxygen-free copper conductors shielded with copper braid, isolated with a PFE dielectric and covered with an external woven nylon sheath.
The two 20cm Y-adapters allow signals to be split or combined for a subwoofer. One has a single phono plug to two phono sockets, the other has one socket to two plugs. Both are available for £52 each.
The range also includes an electrical and an optical digital cable (£61 each). Both are 3m long, and share the same vibration and interference insulators as their analogue counterparts.
