Swedish hi-fi cable specialist Supra has announced a new series of modular speaker cable connectors, the Combicon.
The connectors are made of 24K gold-plated Beryllium copper alloy (a high strength alloy also used for making armour-piercing bullets, apparently), rather than the much more common gold-plated brass, which Supra claims offers higher conductivity, though it also means a higher price.
The connectors allow the cable to be attached straight on axis or at a 90 degree angle, offering extra versatility for those awkward, cramped connections.
The series comes in three different types:
- CombiCon Banana Set – £30
4 Connector Bodies
4 pieces of Banana/BFA connector
24K gold- plated loudspeaker connector for cables up to 6mm sq
The banana pin also fits BFA plugs or connectors
- CombiCon Spade Set – £30
4 Connector Bodies
4 pieces of Spade connector
24K gold plated loudspeaker connector for cables up to 6mm sq
Fits binding posts up to 9mm diameter
- CombiCon Kit best value – £35
4 Connector Bodies
4 pieces of Spade connector
4 pieces of Banana/BFA connector
All varieties of the Supra Combicon are available now.
